Summer Business Institutes (SBIs) are the centerpiece of the LEAD program.
Every summer, 11 of the nation's top graduate business schools host an exciting, intensive program where high school juniors are introduced to career opportunities in a variety of disciplines.
For three to four weeks, students live on campus and participate in interactive classes, site visits, and one-on-one sessions conducted by the nation's leading business school professors and corporate executives.
Using the case study method created by the Wharton School, a LEAD SBI, students tackle real business problems, analyze business issues, and gain valuable insight into the dilemmas of major corporations. The dynamic curriculum covers a wide range of fields including: marketing, accounting, finance, economics, computer science, and ethics.
LEAD SBIs also highlight the unique benefits of entrepreneurship. By visiting local businesses, meeting entrepreneurs, and developing business plans, students gain a greater understanding of business ownership as an exciting career choice.
Of course, LEAD is not all work and no play. Through a variety of extracurricular activities both on- and off-campus from theme park trips to sporting events - SBIs provide opportunities for students to develop lifelong friendships.
